Mentors and Mentees Program

The Mentors and Mentees Program provides an opportunity for youth and adults to build relationships; to provide our teen youth with a wider range of experiences with and interaction around faith issues. The group meets monthly throughout the school year. These meetings, often beginning with a shared meal, alternate between social and faith development activities. In addition to the monthly meetings, mentor-mentee pairs get together for one-to-one interaction and activities about once a month.

Recent group gatherings have included activities such as an overnight "lock-in", a service work project, watching and discussing movies, a Christmas white elephant gift exchange, discussions about issues such as homelessness or racism, frisbee golf, and indoor rock climbing.

Recent individual mentor-mentee pair activities have included such things as going out for ice cream, watching a movie together, playing squash, attending a UW football game, going out to eat, hiking in a state park, kayaking, craft projects, attending a lecture together, an art show, baking and frosting, fishing, photography, and bowling.
